Mókrókar were formed in early 2018 by pianist Benjamín Gísli Einarsson, guitarist Þorkell Ragnar Grétarsson and drummer Þórir Hólm Jónsson. The idea was to meet regularly and play original compositions and explore improvisational ideas. Their music can be described as experimental jazz from the dark side with heavy emphasis on free improvisation.
